Iyo Sky is stepping back into familiar territory—and she’s bringing some serious star power with her.

The former WWE Women’s World Champion has officially been announced for a major match in Japan. Dream Star☆Fighting Marigold revealed that Sky will face Mayu Iwatani at Grand Destiny on October 26 at Ryogoku Kokugikan. The match reunites two of Japan’s top wrestling icons for a showdown that fans have waited years to see.

Sky made the announcement herself in a video shared by Marigold, where she addressed fans directly and called out Iwatani for what she described as a personal and meaningful battle.

“Marigold fans, long time, no see. It’s WWE superstar Iyo Sky. So, why am I here? There’s one reason: Mayu Iwatani! Over the past few years, when you and I didn’t meet, we’ve each walked such wonderful paths. Let’s speak to our hearts’ content and tell our story inside of the ring. October 26 at Marigold’s Ryogoku Kokugikan, Mayu Iwatani vs IYO SKY is official.

Hey, Mayu, let’s show the world what an amazing match we will have. See you soon.

IYO SKY previously wrestled for Marigold back in July, where she defeated Utami Hayashishita at Summer Destiny. Her return to the promotion deepens the ongoing bridge between WWE and Marigold, especially after reports last year suggested WWE would allow Giulia to wrestle for Marigold while under contract.

As for Iwatani, she’s been vocal about her desire to face top WWE talent, specifically calling out SKY, Kairi Sane, and Giulia as dream opponents after signing with Marigold.

With WWE and Marigold continuing to cooperate behind the scenes, this upcoming match could be another step in a growing inter-promotional relationship—one that fans worldwide are starting to take very seriously.
