WrestleMania 41 is less than three weeks away, and the card is certainly coming together, especially when it comes to the marquee matches. With that said, WWE’s internal reaction to Triple H’s decision on the main events has been revealed.
While speaking on the post-Raw show, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about the internal reaction to Triple H’s decision regarding the WrestleMania main events, where it was said that while Triple H claims it’s based on what earned the best spot, it’s clear he has a preference.
Sapp confirmed that Triple H absolutely favors a specific match for the main event. He pointed out that Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins is one of the biggest marquee matches possible, appealing to casual fans.
Sean Ross Sapp stated that there hasn’t been much internal reaction regarding Triple H’s decision. It was noted that only a small group of wrestlers are concerned about being in the WrestleMania main event, as most understand it isn’t a realistic opportunity for them this year.
“Yes, it’s absolutely what he favors for the spot. You could argue that Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins is as big of a marquee match as you can get. It’s a heavily stacked bout that casual fans will love. A lot of people are saying, ‘Well, of course, that’s what they’re doing.’ But internally, I don’t hear a ton of reactions. Only a handful of people are really concerned about being in the WrestleMania main event because they know it’s not a realistic goal for them this year.”
It was confirmed that CM Punk will face Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in the main event for Night One of WrestleMania 41. As for Night Two, Cody Rhodes will defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against John Cena, so it’s clear both main events were chosen as they involve the biggest names.
With two star-studded main events, WWE is banking on maximum mainstream appeal for this year’s WrestleMania, and we’ll have to see how both matches will be received by fans and critics alike.
