Mercedes Moné is stacking championships everywhere she goes, but not everyone’s thrilled about her gold rush. After Winnipeg Pro Wrestling announced Moné for their upcoming event, one fan took a shot at the AEW star—accusing her of using independent promotions without giving anything back.

The fan warned the promotion not to let Moné win their title and made a harsh claim about her motives.

“Don’t give your belt to her please GOD. She’s using indie shows and not ever returning the favor. I’m honestly convinced she has zero intention on dropping her belts and she’ll just get pregnant and relinquish them.”

Winnipeg Pro Wrestling didn’t hold back in their response. They defended Moné and fired back at the claim that she’s taking advantage of the indie scene.

“You have no idea what you’re talking about, or what future plans there are. She’s not ‘using’ anyone, this is an incredibly mutually beneficial relationship, the same as any other booking. It’s bizarre how much hate Mercedes gets for just… existing… and doing her job well.”

When another fan sarcastically suggested that all the build-up would be pointless if Moné didn’t stick around, the promotion clapped back again—reminding everyone of the bigger picture.

“Yeah, all we’ll have had is 1600 people at an indie show. The horror!”

Mercedes Moné is currently scheduled to face Jody Threat for the WPW Women’s Championship at RUMBLE IN THE BURT 3 on October 19th. If she wins, it’ll mark her 11th championship during her current run, fresh off claiming the BODYSLAM Women’s Title.

Critics might question her long-term involvement, but indie companies like WPW clearly see Moné’s presence as a huge boost—not a burden. The fans may be divided, but promotions are lining up to book her, titles and all.
