Ilja Dragunov Left A Bloody Mess In US Title Defense During 12/12 WWE SmackDown

WWE is has a lot of things going for them, and they like the family friendly aspect of their programming. Even though blood isn’t part of the weekly recipe, sometimes it’s an unavoidable part of the show.

During the December 12 episode of WWE SmackDown, the United States Title was on the line, and Ilja Dragunov certainly gave it his all. Tommaso Ciampa had his first singles title match in two years, and he made the most of it.

Although Tommaso Ciampa wasn’t able to win the US Title on SmackDown, he didn’t go down without a fight. The DIY member was able to leave Ilja Dragunov as a bloody mess when everything was said and done.

During the stiff match, Tommaso Ciampa was able to get a shot in on Ilja Dragunov. This busted the Mad Dragon’s nose, and the lower half of his face was a crimson mask.

Candice LeRae tried to help Tommaso Ciampa cheat to win the match, but Ilja Dragunov was able to kick out. Then Dragunov got the win, but he was very banged up in the process. DIY tried to attack Dragunov after the match, but then Carmelo Hayes ran down for the save before standing off with the champion.

We will have to see what is next for Ilja Dragunov. Hopefully, he didn’t suffer a bloody nose. However, after wrestling a match on WWE television with that much blood, he will certainly have to pass a physical check-up afterward.
