The IInspiration may have had a rough start in AEW — but the duo says signing with the company was an easy decision.

During a fan Q&A panel at For The Love of Wrestling, Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay opened up about why they chose AEW and what they’re most excited about now that they’re officially part of the promotion. McKay didn’t point to just one dream opponent — instead, she said the biggest appeal of AEW is the sheer number of new matchups waiting for them.

“Oh my gosh, it’s so exciting. We can’t wait. To have our debut in Brisbane, Australia, our home country, just puts the cherry on top. We’re really excited. We came here because there are so many possibilities. Hopefully we get to share the ring with women we’ve never worked with before. There are just so many opportunities and we’re ready for all of it.”

Cassie Lee backed that up and made it clear their ambitions in AEW go far beyond just showing up — they want championships and a chance to make history in the company.

“It’s not just one or two people we want to work with — it’s the whole roster. There are a lot of people we’ve never shared a locker room or a ring with before. What we’re most excited about is going after the championships and making some history.”

McKay also leaned into their new AEW identity, sounding pretty fired up about the partnership: “Yes, we’re so ready for that. All Elite, The IInspiration — what could be better than that?” Another factor in their decision? All the Australian and New Zealand wrestlers already making noise in AEW. McKay said sharing a locker room with talent from that part of the world makes the move even more exciting.

“AEW has so many talented people, and wrestling in Australia has really started to grow over the past few years. We know many of them already and they’re all great people. We’re excited to share the locker room with even more Aussies.”

The timing of their comments is interesting. They officially debuted at AEW House Rules in Brisbane on February 15 — but their first televised match on Dynamite didn’t exactly go their way, as The Brawling Birds ran through them in a quick squash.

From the sound of it, they’re focused on the bigger picture — new opponents, big stages, and eventually gold. Now the question is whether AEW gives them the runway to make that happen.
