The IInspiration’s first AEW match didn’t go the way they planned.
Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay officially made their AEW television debut during the February 28, 2026 episode of AEW Collision in a video package where they immediately called out The Brawling Birds — the team of Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor.
During that segment, the duo blamed Hayter and Windsor for sabotaging their debut at AEW House Rules Australia and made it clear they were looking for revenge.
Their challenge quickly turned into a match, as AEW announced The IInspiration would make their in-ring debut on the March 4, 2026 episode of AEW Dynamite against The Brawling Birds. However, the match ended almost as quickly as it started.
The Brawling Birds immediately jumped The IInspiration from behind at the opening bell, putting Lee and McKay on the defensive before they could build any momentum. Alex Windsor followed the attack with a clothesline on McKay while the duo continued the assault. Hayter and Windsor then double teamed Cassie Lee with a suplex before finishing the match moments later. The Brawling Birds sealed the victory with their finishing move.
The quick defeat marks a rough start for The IInspiration’s AEW run, especially after their debut video package framed their arrival around revenge against Hayter and Windsor. Despite the loss, the rivalry between the two teams appears far from over, as the chaotic start to the match suggests the bad blood between them is still very much alive.
Do you think The IInspiration should have won their AEW in-ring debut, or was the quick loss the right move to build the rivalry with The Brawling Birds? Let us know what you think and leave your feedback in the comments.
