Switchblade was MIA this week—thanks to Mother Nature.
AEW Dynamite rolled into Omaha, Nebraska on Wednesday, but not every star could weather the storm. A massive blizzard slammed the area, and while most advertised talent managed to make it, some names were forced to sit this one out. Among them? None other than Jay White.
According to Fightful Select, the Bullet Club Gold leader was “among those that were unable to make the show on Wednesday,” due to the brutal winter conditions. The snowstorm didn’t stop the show, but it definitely reshuffled some backstage plans.
White’s absence is especially notable considering his current role on AEW TV. He’s been linking up with Cope to fight off the Death Riders and recently made it crystal clear he’s setting his sights on the top. “Jon Moxley, Swerve Strickland, Cope, anyone else… I’m coming for that AEW World Championship,” White declared last week.
Meanwhile, Moxley defended the AEW World Title against Cope in a bloodbath of a street fight, and he’s got Swerve Strickland lined up next at AEW Dynasty. But don’t count White out—he’s just been delayed, not derailed.
Do you think Jay White deserves a run with the AEW World Title? Or should he finish business with the Death Riders first? Sound off in the comments and let us know what you think.
