The August 25, 2025 edition of WWE RAW wasn’t short on drama—especially in the opening segment where Roman Reigns and Bronson Reed came to blows in Birmingham, United Kingdom. But it wasn’t just the massive brawl that caught fans’ attention. Thanks to new intel, we now know who the so-called “security” was that tried—and failed—to separate the two heavyweights.
During the fiery segment at the bp pulse LIVE arena, Reigns and Reed had to be “restrained” by multiple guards after their brutal scrap spilled into the ring. That didn’t last long, though. Each “security” guard was quickly dispatched like bowling pins as Reigns and Reed tore into each other. Now, thanks to Fightful’s Corey Brennan, we know who those security extras were.
“CBL, Sammy D, Tate Mayfairs, Ethan Allen and James Ellis.”
Each of these names belongs to independent wrestlers from the UK and European scene. Tate Mayfairs, in particular, is no stranger to British wrestling fans, and Ethan Allen has been active in promotions such as Catch Pro and Progress Wrestling.
The brawl kicked off after Roman Reigns cut an emotional promo about everything he’s lost—his titles, his Bloodline, and Paul Heyman. He reminded the crowd that he’s no longer the same man, only for the fans to chant back “Yes you are!” Reigns then added, “Maybe I can be.”
Paul Heyman interrupted, bringing Bronson Reed out while declaring that “Roman Reigns needs tough love,” but it would be Reed, not Heyman, who would beat it into him at Clash in Paris. Reed then grabbed the mic and told Reigns:
“I’m the Samoan your father warned you about.”
The two brawled all over the ringside area and inside the ring. Reed at one point tried to jack Reigns’ sneakers, prompting Roman to respond with a Superman Punch that sent Reed fleeing. But the real takeaway? Five indie wrestlers got a big spotlight, even if they were used as human wreckage.
What do you think of WWE using indie wrestlers as security in moments like this? Should they be featured more prominently? Drop your thoughts in the comments below—we’d love to hear what you think.
