Hulk Hogan’s widow, Sky Daily, is preparing to take legal action over what she believes contributed to the wrestling icon’s death.
Sources with direct knowledge told TMZ Sports that Sky is “planning” to file a lawsuit against at least one of Hulk Hogan’s doctors—and potentially others—related to a neck surgery the WWE legend underwent in May. The lawsuit is expected to center on claims of medical malpractice tied to that procedure.
Sky previously mentioned she believes Hogan’s phrenic nerve, which helps control breathing, was “compromised” during that operation. The issue may have played a major role in Hogan’s death at his Clearwater Beach home on July 24.
Sources familiar with the 911 call say Sky told emergency dispatchers at the time: “My husband’s not breathing. He just stopped breathing.”
Emergency medical services were sent to Hogan’s home early that Thursday morning, responding to what was labeled as a “cardiac arrest” situation. However, sources say the audio makes it clear that Hogan didn’t suffer a sudden heart attack—instead, he stopped breathing altogether.
It’s also being said that an occupational therapist present at Hogan’s home on the day of his death also informed police about the suspected nerve damage.
As part of her ongoing investigation, Sky ordered a private autopsy. While the results haven’t been made public, her decision to move forward with a lawsuit suggests those findings may support her concerns.
According to a medical examiner’s cremation approval report, Hulk Hogan’s official cause of death was listed as a heart attack. However, the Clearwater Police Department has not yet closed its own investigation into the matter.
