The demand for Hulk Hogan memorabilia has exploded since the wrestling icon’s death, and one rare item in particular is poised to bring in a massive payday.
According to TMZ, Hogan’s signed nWo wrestling boots from 1999—already scheduled to go on auction—have nearly doubled in estimated value following the news of his passing.
Originally expected to sell for around $40,000, experts now believe the ring-worn boots could bring in between $60,000 and $75,000 when they hit the block through Heritage Auctions on August 24.
The boots were worn during five matches in 1999, including Hogan’s WCW World Heavyweight Championship defense against Ric Flair at SuperBrawl IX. With visible wear and tear, nWo logos, and Hogan’s autograph, these boots are more than just gear—they’re history.
The story behind the boots adds another layer of value. According to Heritage Auctions, they were gifted directly by Hogan to the sons of a longtime sound system technician who worked with him.
“One day he brought his kids over to meet the Hulkster, and Hogan invited them to his gym and gifted them these very nWo ring-worn boots,” HA said in a statement.
“Both sons received a boot from Hogan, and they were reunited for the first time when they were recently consigned.”
The boots have been authenticated by Sports Investors Authentication, who matched them to all five bouts Hogan wore them in. Because so little of Hogan’s ring-used gear ever hits the market, these boots have become a rare gem for collectors.
With Hulkamania forever etched into wrestling history, it’s no surprise these boots are generating massive attention. The only question now is which deep-pocketed fan will step up to claim a piece of the legend’s legacy.
