Real American Beer might’ve looked like another flashy celebrity product, but according to Bubba the Love Sponge, its origins were anything but clean.

During a recent interview with Danny Jones, Bubba claimed Hulk Hogan was originally lined up for a massive beer deal with Anheuser-Busch—until two top execs allegedly poached him behind the scenes.

“He originally had a deal with Anheuser-Busch, which is owned by—inBev now, owned by like a Danish company. And he had a deal with one of the original Bushes. Two of the highest-ranking people underneath the Bush guy stole Terry away with a better deal, quit Anheuser-Busch, and started the Terry beer—the Hogan beer. Yeah. That’s what I was told.”

Bubba didn’t name the execs involved or the company that ultimately launched Real American Beer, but he made it clear—this wasn’t just smart branding. It was corporate sabotage at the highest level. After Hogan passed away, interest in the beer reportedly spiked, but Bubba wasn’t sure what happened next.

“Right after he died there was a run on, you know, people trying to get it. I don’t know if they’ve restocked. That’s a story in itself.”

Surprisingly, Bubba admitted he never even tasted the beer himself—but fans had already formed opinions.

“I haven’t had it. I heard it’s kind of a little thicker Miller Lite is what I heard, but I heard it was pretty good.”

Despite his declining health, Hogan was still grinding hard to promote the product up until his final months. According to Bubba, the Hall of Famer refused to slow down—even when he should have.

“You don’t need to be in Shabbo, Wisconsin at 4:30 meeting 300 cheeseheads so that they’ll buy 10 cases of beer. For real. Like, stop.”

If Bubba’s account is accurate, Real American Beer didn’t just carry Hogan’s name—it was the product of a cutthroat boardroom war, complete with executive betrayals and strategic exits from one of the biggest companies in the alcohol industry.

Was Hogan’s beer deal a brilliant last move—or was he used as a pawn in a corporate game? Sound off in the comments and let us know what you believe really happened.
