Hulk Hogan always manages to grab attention, whether it’s positive or negative, both inside and outside of professional wrestling. During WWE RAW’s Netflix debut on January 6, fans reacted with loud boos to everything Hogan said, which surprised many. Following this, Hogan has now revealed that he had a backstage conversation with Stephanie McMahon.
While speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Hulk Hogan revealed a conversation he had with Stephanie McMahon during the RAW Netflix premiere. He was walking out in LA and standing on the ramp when he saw Stephanie. He thought it was cool, but she told him she wasn’t involved anymore.
Hogan joked that she still tells Triple H what to do. Stephanie then told him that he was the one who built WWE and started it all. Hogan thanked her for saying that and appreciated the compliment.
“I was walking out the other day in LA, I was standing on the ramp, and Stephanie McMahon was there. You know, it’s like, ‘Oh my god, man, things are so cool.’ She says, ‘Well, I’m not involved anymore.’ I say, ‘BS, you’re the one who tells Triple H what to do.’ I was teasing her, and she said, ‘You’re the one who built this thing, you started it.’ I said, ‘Thank you for that.'”
It was also previously reported that WWE is planning a potential heel turn for Hulk Hogan following the negative reception he received during the RAW Netflix premiere. Hulk Hogan’s place in WWE is still a topic of interest, especially after the mixed reactions at RAW.
It’s unclear if he will stay a fan favorite or turn into a more hated character but in the meantime, his conversation with Stephanie McMahon has definitely caught people’s attention.
Do you think Stephanie McMahon gave Hogan the recognition he deserves, or should WWE’s future direction be more focused on newer talent rather than honoring the past? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
