WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was noticeably absent from the Academy Awards’ In Memoriam segment during the 2026 Oscars ceremony, despite his past work in Hollywood.

Hogan, who passed away in July 2025, was one of the most recognizable wrestling stars to successfully cross over into film and television during his career. However, when the Academy honored actors, filmmakers, and entertainment figures who died over the past year, Hogan’s name did not appear in the televised tribute.

His omission did not stop there. Hogan was also not included in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ official In Memoriam listing on the organization’s website, which typically contains an extended version of the tribute honoring those who passed away during the year.

During his career, Hogan appeared in several films and became one of the most recognizable athletes to transition into acting during the late 1980s and 1990s. One of his most notable appearances came in Rocky III, where he played Thunderlips opposite Sylvester Stallone. The role helped introduce Hogan to a wider mainstream audience and significantly boosted his celebrity beyond the wrestling world.

He later went on to star in several films, including No Holds Barred (1989), Suburban Commando (1991), Mr. Nanny (1993), Santa with Muscles (1996), and 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain (1998). Hogan also made cameo appearances in films such as Gremlins 2 and Muppets from Space.

Hogan’s death in July 2025 marked the passing of one of the most influential figures in professional wrestling history. While his legacy in wrestling remains firmly cemented, his contributions to film and pop culture were also a notable part of his career. For many fans, the absence of Hogan from the Oscars tribute quickly stood out given his visibility in several Hollywood projects over the years.

Do you think Hulk Hogan should have been included in the Oscars In Memoriam segment, or do you feel the tribute should focus strictly on traditional film industry figures? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
