Hulk Hogan’s Real American Freestyle Wrestling is all people can talk about right now, and the Hulkster recently claimed that his venture could be bigger than UFC and WWE. Unsurprisingly, Hogan has now been called out over this claim in a big way.

While speaking on the Wrestling Outlaws, Vince Russo called out Hulk Hogan for his claim that his new wrestling company will be bigger than WWE and UFC. Russo said Hogan has made big promises like this before, like when he joined TNA. Back then, Hogan went on TV shows and said TNA would become a huge deal.

Russo said it’s okay to dream big, but saying the promotion will be bigger than WWE or UFC just isn’t realistic. He believes this might be the most over-the-top and craziest thing Hogan has ever said.

“Hogan said this is going to be bigger than the WWE and UFC. Come on. I’m watching Hogan on this thing and I’m like, bro, he did this same thing when he signed with TNA. He went on Larry King, he did the whole talk show circuit, and TNA was going to be this, that, and—man, bro.

If there’s a way to do it, something is possible. But something so outlandish, delusional, crazy, and absurd? Like—just say, ‘We’re going to be something, we’re going to be on the level of…’ You cannot say bigger, man. Out of all the things Hulk Hogan said, that’s the craziest..”

That’s not all Hogan said as he recently took a shot at WWE, saying his new promotion won’t use a team of 25 writers telling wrestlers what to say, how to act, or which catchphrases to use. Instead, he said the wrestlers in his company will speak from the heart, with a focus on keeping things real and natural.

“The thing I worried about was with these amateur wrestlers—do they have the swag? Do they know how to bring an edge to their real personality? But after I met with them, they all had that Conor McGregor swag. They’ve all watched TV, they’ve seen the promos, they know about branding. These kids are really, really smart.”

Hulk Hogan also teased Donald Trump’s appearance at Real American Freestyle Wrestling’s debut show on August 30th. Therefore, we will have to wait and see if it will see any measure of success this year, as fans feel Hogan might have already bitten off more than he can chew.
