Penta made a big splash after parting ways with AEW and debuting in WWE, as he has been on a hot streak since then. Penta is known for his iconic “Cero Miedo” catchphrase and has now explained how he came up with it in the first place.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Penta revealed the inspiration behind his “Cero Miedo” catchphrase, explaining that it came from his love for corridos in Mexican music. He specifically mentioned the band Los Buitres De Culiacán, whose songs often include the phrase “Cero miedo mi compa,” which translates to “No fear, my friend” in English.

Penta started saying “Cero Miedo” and found that he liked it. During his first interview in AAA in Mexico, he was asked how he felt, and he responded with “Cero Miedo!” The phrase quickly caught on, with fans embracing it, and from that moment, it became his signature catchphrase.

“The truth is, I love the corridos in Mexican music. In Mexico, there is the Los Buitres De Culiacan. which is the band. In a lot of their songs they say, ‘Cero miedo mi compa,’ in English which means ‘No fear my friend.’ I started saying “Cero miedo” okay..I like it. Then in my first interview in AAA in Mexico, I did a promo and was asked ‘How do you feel?’ I said ‘Cero Meido!’ After that everyone is like ‘Hey Cero Miedo!’ and that’s how it started. Cero Miedo comes from the corridos in Mexico.”
