Omos made a surprise appearance at AAA’s TripleManía XXXIII earlier this year, but it turns out his debut in Mexico wasn’t planned in the traditional sense. The towering WWE Superstar recently revealed how the whole thing came together—and it was shockingly simple.
Speaking to NarcolepsyBoy94, Omos explained that he was casually invited to appear at AAA with almost no warning. There were no meetings or long negotiations—just a laid-back offer that caught him completely off guard.
“Um, that happened… it was just like, ‘Hey, want to go to Triple A?’ I’m not sure — it was just that simple, like, ‘Hey, we got this battle royal, you in?’ I didn’t even know it was a battle royal. They’re like, ‘Hey, you got something going, you want to?’ I’m like, ‘Sure. All right, Mexico. I’ve never been to Mexico City, let’s go.’”
Omos admitted he had never visited Mexico before, and the offer gave him a chance to finally do some international travel—something that wasn’t possible for him in earlier years due to visa and immigration issues.
“And me, I’m a thing where, like, you know, I was coming out of college. I really didn’t get that much experience to travel a lot outside the USA. So, I wasn’t able to get my immigration stuff settled and situated. I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m going to travel now.’ So, since I get to travel and leave the country — sign me up.”
Once he landed in Mexico City, Omos competed in the Copa Bardahl battle royal at TripleManía XXXIII. He ended up winning the whole match after eliminating La Parka, instantly establishing himself as a dominant force in AAA. Following the event, Omos was officially branded an AAA Superstar.
It’s unclear when Omos will return to AAA for another match, but his presence at TripleManía was enough to show that the big man is open to surprises—and the kind of travel opportunities that let him break new ground.
Omos’ laid-back attitude might’ve brought him to Mexico on a whim, but it was his performance that made sure he walked away with gold. His international chapter may just be getting started.
