Naomi announced she was pregnant on the August 18th edition of Monday Night Raw and now she has revealed when she found out about the pregnancy in the first place.

While speaking during Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story podcast, Naomi explained that she discovered the pregnancy on Sunday, August 10, while on the road. She said she had been feeling different and decided to take a test in her hotel room, not really expecting a positive result because of her long struggle with fertility issues.

“I found out Sunday (August 10) on the road. In my hotel room. had been feeling a little different, a little weird. Wanted to take a test to make sure and rule that out. Not thinking because it’s been a long journey with fertility issues that I’ve had. I really didn’t think it was possible.”

Naomi opened up about the health challenges that made her doubt she could get pregnant. Before her WWE debut as a Funkadactyl, she underwent an oophorectomy.

Later in 2020, she went through a six-hour myomectomy to remove multiple large fibroids, which kept her away from WWE for six months. At 37 and with only one ovary, she and Jimmy believed pregnancy would only be possible with medical help.

“Earlier in our relationship, before I debuted as a Funkadactyl, I had an oophorectomy, which is the removal of my right ovary. In 2020, we went through another major surgery, which is a myomectomy, the removal of fibroids. I had tons, and big ones.”

Jimmy Uso joked about not proceeding with caution but also pointed out how Naomi immediately thought about her fans and her responsibilities as champion. She admitted feeling like she might be letting people down by stepping away, but Jimmy assured fans that her love for them is still strong.

“There was no reason to proceed because we had been informed…there is no way to know 100% for sure, but we had been advised that (we would need help). I found out Sunday, called him, had to go to work. Stressed about having to tell work because of where I am right now as the champion. Of all times.

She isn’t going to say this, but she felt like she let all her fans down. She felt like there is a step back because she is cooking. Timing is everything. I want to let her fans know; she loves them and she thought about them right off the bat. Thought about WWE right off the bat because it’s a step away now.”

Now seven weeks along, Naomi said her focus is on a healthy pregnancy. Being high-risk means she’ll need extra checkups, but so far, everything looks good. Despite the challenges, she’s happy and ready to embrace what comes next.

“It’s a lot to process, but I’m happy. I want to get through this healthy because I am high risk. I’m gonna have to get check ups more often, but everything is looking good. We’re off to a good start.”

Fans are incredibly happy for Naomi and everyone is praying that Naomi will give birth to a healthy child. It will be a very long time until she’s back, so we’ll have to see how the landscape of WWE changes when she returns.
