Weeks after WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Hart had his iconic red-and-white megaphone stolen during WrestleCade weekend, we now know exactly how it made its way back home—thanks to security footage and a little pressure.

According to Fightful Select, WrestleCade officials were able to identify the person responsible after catching the culprit on high-definition security cameras. Once confronted, the individual chose to return the megaphone rather than face potential legal consequences.

“Jimmy Hart had his stolen megaphone returned. From what we learned, the WrestleCade promoters caught the culprit on security cameras and were able to track him down. He opted to send it back instead of facing charges,” the report stated.

The megaphone went missing on November 29 while Hart was attending WrestleCade in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The theft quickly made headlines, as the item is a cherished part of Hart’s legacy—used throughout his legendary career managing icons like Hulk Hogan, The Hart Foundation, and The Honky Tonk Man.

At the time, WrestleCade publicly warned that law enforcement would get involved if the megaphone wasn’t returned.

“Someone stole Jimmy Hart’s megaphone at the convention yesterday. The venue has HD cameras and police will review the footage tomorrow. Jimmy isn’t looking to press charges—he just wants it back,” WrestleCade posted on social media. “If you took it, DM us.”

That pressure worked. On December 20, Hart appeared in a video posted by WrestleCade holding the recovered megaphone and thanking everyone involved.

“Guess what? We’ve got it back! Thank you WrestleCade, thank you Tony Hunter, thank you everybody involved, this is unbelievable! Now I have my megaphone back—what a great Christmas present this is for me,” Hart said. “And I want to wish everyone out there a merry, merry Christmas.”

While the thief’s identity hasn’t been made public, the fact that the megaphone was recovered thanks to security footage shows just how seriously the wrestling community treats its legends. And with Hart choosing forgiveness over charges, the holidays got just a little brighter for fans of The Mouth of the South.

Do you think the thief got off too easy by just returning the megaphone—or was Hart right to take the high road? Let us know in the comments.
