Bron Breakker aligned himself with Paul Heyman and Seth Rollins on the April 21st edition of Monday Night Raw and since then, he’s been a massive asset to the faction. Fans have been wondering how it all came together and Breakker has now revealed when he found out he’d join the faction.
While speaking on the Six Feet Under podcast, Bron Breakker talked about how he found out he’d be working with Paul Heyman and Seth Rollins. Going into WrestleMania weekend, his full focus was on the Fatal Four Way match.
Since it was his first WrestleMania, he wasn’t thinking about what would happen after, like Monday Night Raw. He didn’t even know if he’d be on TV the next night since his mind was only on WrestleMania.
“Well, going into the weekend, I know we’ve got the Mania match—the Fatal Four Way. It’s my first WrestleMania, so that’s where my focus was. I wasn’t even thinking about Raw. I didn’t know if I was going to be on TV or anything, so it was all about Mania week.”
Right before the match, he was backstage in Gorilla, warming up. He and Triple H had started to build a working relationship, and there was some playful banter between them. It reminded Bron of how things used to be in NXT with Shawn Michaels.
“I’m warming up for the match. We’re next. I’m in Gorilla. And Hunter and I are starting to build a bit of a relationship. I’m kind of fun to mess with, and I joke with him all the time too. He sits in that spot, and it reminded me of what I used to do with Shawn Michaels in NXT.”
At WrestleMania, as Bron Breakker stood backstage waiting for his entrance, the first person in the match had already gone out. Triple H came over for their usual quick exchange. Right before Bron’s music hit, The Game leaned in and instantly told him about plans to join Heyman and Rollins and just walked away.
It caught Bron Breakker off guard completely and he stood there thinking he had just been hit with a massive bombshell just before his match at the Showcase of the Immortals.
“Fast forward to Mania—I’m warming up, we’re about to go out. I think the first guy’s entrance had just hit, and I’m standing there waiting for my music. Hunter comes around, we do our usual little routine, and right before I go out, he goes, ‘Bam bam bam, see ya,’ and just walks off.
My music hits, and I’m standing there like… pffft… he really just dropped that bomb on me right before my WrestleMania match.”
Bron Breakker learning he’d join the faction just moments before his WrestleMania debut is nothing to sneeze at. It’s safe to say him joining the faction has already paid off in dividends since he is being groomed for greatness, so we’ll have to see what WWE has planned for him in the coming months.
