The 2025 Double or Nothing pay-per-view saw HOOK make his shocking return during the Anarchy in the Arena match and now his in-ring status following his comeback has been revealed.

While speaking on the Bryan & Vinny Show, Bryan Alvarez gave an update on HOOK’s in-ring status following his appearance during the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing.

Alvarez explained that while HOOK was back on TV, he was still undergoing evaluation and likely hadn’t been cleared for full in-ring action. That’s why his involvement was limited to hitting Claudio Castagnoli with a golf club during the match.

“Well, HOOK was back on TV, but he was still getting evaluated, so I’m not sure that they cleared him to do anything other than hitting a guy with a golf club. So that’s what happened right there.”

After being off TV for several weeks, HOOK wasted no time in making an impact as he attacked Claudio Castagnoli with a golf club to get payback for what happened on the April 9th episode of Dynamite, where Castagnoli took him out of action. It is to be noted that the actual reason for his absence was a physical issue.

HOOK also stared down Samoa Joe before walking away, hinting at growing tension within The Opps. Therefore, we’ll have to wait and see what AEW will have planned for HOOK in the coming weeks, as it’s clear he won’t be wrestling just yet.
