AEW’s mysterious and undefeated star Hologram is now off the board after a brutal backstage assault by TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher. The planned showdown between Fletcher and Hologram for this Wednesday’s Dynamite has been scrapped, with Orange Cassidy stepping in as a replacement.

The attack aired during September 27 episode of AEW Collision, preceded by a cryptic video message from Hologram’s storyline rival, Clon. The segment has left fans questioning what’s real and what’s part of the ongoing storyline. However, Tony Khan later jumped on social media to share a serious update on Hologram’s status. In a post on X, Khan revealed that the 26-year-old is facing a long road to recovery.

“Hologram has significant injuries,” Khan wrote. “We’re all cheering for Hologram + wishing him the best in his recovery. Sadly, Hologram likely is out the rest of 2025.”

Just days before the incident, Hologram was riding high after picking up a win on Dynamite, pinning Hechicero in a trios match. AEW had been quietly building him into a major force since his debut in July 2024. He’d been undefeated in both singles and tag team matches and only recently returned from a long layoff due to an ankle injury at WrestleDream last October, combined with time off for the birth of his child.

As of now, it’s unclear whether the injury is real or part of the storyline. But if the update is legitimate, the future of the Clon vs. Hologram feud—which had fans speculating on wild directions—is now up in the air.

This is another tough setback for the rising star, who many believed was on track for a breakout singles run. Whether this injury is the real deal or an elaborate storyline twist, one thing’s certain—Hologram’s absence is going to leave a major gap in AEW’s ongoing plans.
