Hikuleo has been locked into a WWE deal for quite some time, but fans are still waiting to see when he’ll finally step into the ring. While reports recently confirmed that the former NJPW star has been added to WWE’s internal NXT roster, it appears his debut is still up in the air.

During the Q&A portion of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed Hikuleo’s current status, noting that WWE seems to be in no rush to put him on television.

“I can see him debuting anytime—he’s been under contract for like, not quite a year, but it’s a long time he’s been there,” Meltzer explained. “And for whatever reason, they’ve made the call not to debut him.

Meltzer continued, ‘My gut is they don’t want to debut him on NXT too early, if at all. So maybe they’re just kind of keeping him, trying to get him up to speed, so to speak. But yeah, he’s been there for a long time.”

The speculation surrounding Hikuleo’s role in WWE has only grown, especially with the ongoing shake-ups in The Bloodline. With his brothers Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa making waves on SmackDown, many expected him to follow suit. However, WWE’s decision to hold off on his debut raises questions about their long-term plans for the towering star.

Is WWE keeping Hikuleo on ice for a major main roster debut, or will he eventually show up in NXT first? Drop your thoughts below and let us know where you think he should make his first appearance!
