Wrestling fans might see some unexpected changes on television this week — and it has nothing to do with storyline twists.
According to Fightful Select, heavy storms in the Northeast have disrupted travel in a major way, potentially forcing creative changes across multiple wrestling promotions.
The storms hit the New York area especially hard over the weekend, leading to hundreds of flight cancellations. Travel out of the region was significantly impacted, and that includes wrestlers and production staff trying to get to scheduled events. Alternate travel arrangements were made for several talents, but not everyone has been able to move freely.
“Heavy storms in the northeast could change creative for a lot of wrestling this week.”
The outlet added that promotions are already preparing for worst-case scenarios.
“We're told that there are backup plans that have been put in effect for a number of wrestlers in the event that they don't end up getting to the shows.”
Complicating matters further, some flights originally scheduled for Monday were reportedly pushed back days.
“A number of Monday flights in the region were pushed back to Wednesday at the earliest.”
That kind of delay can completely reshape a live wrestling show, especially during a busy stretch of television leading into major events. If key talent can’t make it to arenas on time, creative teams may be forced to adjust segments, matches, or even entire storylines on short notice.
As of now, no specific talent changes have been confirmed, but the situation remains fluid.
