AEW’s Harley Cameron isn’t just breaking into wrestling—she’s dragging puppets in with her. By the time she reached her 64th match, Cameron was already stepping in the ring with Mercedes Moné, and she didn’t come alone. Her ventriloquist creation, Mini Moné, made a surprise appearance and turned heads for all the right—and hilariously wrong—reasons.

During her interview on Marking Out with MVP, MVP brought up the infamous puppet spot from the Mercedes match, revealing just how wild things got backstage and on screen.

“That f**ing puppet, Mini Moné, that sht had me dying.”

For Harley, Mini Moné isn’t just a gag—it’s an extension of her cabaret roots and her lifelong performance background. And to her credit, AEW gave her the green light to let her freak flag fly.

“Tony Khan has been very cool letting me bring that side of stuff. Cuz who would have imagined ventriloquism in wrestling? I think I’m the— I mean, there’ve been puppets in wrestling, but I don’t think there’s been a ventriloquist.”

Harley’s comfort with improv and absurdity made Mini Moné more than just a throwaway gimmick. The puppet added a surreal edge to her feud with Mercedes and delivered unexpected humor that even had AEW veterans cracking up.

“Mini Moné—she is a trooper. She takes a lot of abuse, you know what I’m saying, from Mercedes. I think Mercedes is warming up to her, though.”

Between backstage training, character work, and puppet mayhem, Harley’s blending performance art with pro wrestling in a way the industry rarely sees. And somehow, it works.

So whether Mini Moné becomes a recurring ringside menace or a one-off fever dream, one thing’s for sure: Harley Cameron is doing things no one else in AEW is even thinking about—and Tony Khan seems to be all for it.
