MJF survived one of the most violent matches of his career at AEW Revolution 2026 — and the result carries massive consequences for Hangman Adam Page moving forward.
The AEW World Championship was on the line at the event inside Crypto.com Arena as MJF defended the title against Hangman Page in a Last Chance Texas Deathmatch. The stipulation raised the stakes even further because Page agreed that if he lost the match, he would never again be allowed to challenge for the AEW World Championship.
The rivalry between the two had been escalating for months. Page lost the title previously and had already failed to regain it earlier in the feud, which forced him into the final opportunity at Revolution. With his career path tied directly to the outcome, the match quickly became one of the most brutal contests of the night.
Both competitors used an array of weapons as the match progressed, including broken glass, barbed wire, tables, chains, skewers, and even a syringe during one of the match’s most disturbing moments. Blood covered both men as the fight spilled throughout the ringside area and even up the entrance ramp.
The chaos escalated as Hangman attempted to put MJF away with several Buckshot Lariats and high-impact moves. At one point, Page slammed the champion off the stage and through the production sound table, triggering explosions that left both men motionless for several moments before the match continued.
Despite everything Page threw at him, MJF ultimately regained control late in the match. After a series of counters and low blows from both competitors, MJF used the chain connected to a dog collar to choke Hangman until he collapsed, forcing the referee to stop the match.
With the victory, MJF retained the AEW World Championship — but the bigger story coming out of Revolution is the future of Hangman Page. Because of the match stipulation, Page is now permanently barred from challenging for the AEW World Championship again as long as MJF’s victory stands. The result dramatically changes the trajectory of Page’s career within AEW and removes one of the company’s most prominent stars from the title picture.
The brutal ending closed the door on Page’s pursuit of the championship and cemented MJF’s reign as champion after surviving one of the most dangerous matches of his career.
Do you think AEW should eventually find a way to revisit the stipulation and give Hangman Adam Page another chance at the AEW World Championship, or should the company stick to the outcome of the Texas Deathmatch? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
