Gunther is officially back—and he’s coming face-to-face with Pat McAfee tonight on WWE RAW.

Just hours before the May 5, 2025 episode of RAW goes live, WWE dropped a major update via social media. In a video posted to X, WWE official Adam Pearce made the announcement: “Gunther’s suspension has been lifted, and The Ring General will be in the building for a face-to-face with Pat McAfee tonight on RAW.”

The tweet was captioned exactly how Pearce said it in the footage, confirming the storyline development many fans have been waiting for. Gunther, who had been suspended from WWE television in storyline fashion, is officially back in play—and heading straight into confrontation mode.

The former World Champion hasn’t been seen in recent weeks, and his absence had many speculating about what WWE had planned for his return. Now we have the answer—and it looks like Pat McAfee is in his sights.
