GUNTHER’s violent actions on the RAW after WrestleMania just caught up with him—and now WWE is officially stepping in.

On April 25, WWE posted a video to Twitter confirming that GUNTHER has been fined an undisclosed amount and suspended indefinitely for his backstage assault on Pat McAfee and physical altercation with Michael Cole during the April 21 episode of Monday Night RAW.

The clip features WWE executive Adam Pearce addressing the situation directly: “Pat is doing okay and will be covering the NFL Draft. Michael Cole, as always, is doing what he does in a Hall of Fame way.” Pearce then confirmed disciplinary action: “I’ve made the decision to fine and suspend GUNTHER indefinitely.” No specifics on the fine or the length of the suspension were given.

This update follows Pat McAfee’s emotional comments on The Pat McAfee Show, where he revealed he had to visit a medical facility in Las Vegas after being choked out by GUNTHER on RAW. He feared a potential C2 or C3 neck injury but was cleared after evaluation. “I certainly lost consciousness after what happened,” McAfee admitted, before taking a shot at his haters: “Everybody that said they’re happy it happened to me, I hope we meet in person so I can punch you in the f***** face.”*

McAfee also made it clear he’s not backing down: “If you think choking me out is gonna end me, you’re right. You think you’ll bury me publicly and have me quit showing up? You’re wrong.”

With GUNTHER now suspended, fans are left wondering when—or if—he’ll return, and whether this storyline with McAfee and Cole is far from over.
