GUNTHER isn’t letting WWE’s WrestleMania 41 main event snub get under his skin—even if fans are making noise about it.

The reigning World Heavyweight Champion will defend his title against Jey Uso at the massive two-night event, but he won’t headline either night. Instead, WWE has locked in CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins for Night One, and John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes for Night Two.

While some might take that as a slap in the face, GUNTHER told The Ariel Helwani Show he’s unbothered. “No, I’m not (disappointed). There’s two main event spots. Some people argue there’s only one, which is night two. At the end of the day, they’re big achievements, but that’s nothing I want to stress about.”

The Austrian powerhouse explained that he sees the bigger picture in his career, and he’s focused on the long game—not just the spotlight at WrestleMania. “Because in the long term, later on when I finish my career and I’m able to be financially set up to take care of my family, I did all of this doing the thing that I always wanted to do,” he said. “I don’t think if I never main event WrestleMania it’s gonna make a difference to how proud or happy I’ll be about my career.”

GUNTHER lost the Intercontinental Championship to Sami Zayn at last year’s WrestleMania, while Jey Uso picked up a major win by defeating his brother Jimmy in a personal showdown.

Now the two will meet on a much bigger stage—but without the official “main event” tag. Still, for GUNTHER, it’s all part of the journey.
