Greg Miller Reveals Behind-the-Scenes Details of His WWE Exit

Greg Miller is setting the record straight on his WWE status after his name was quietly removed from the company’s roster page. The former This Is Awesome host took to his YouTube channel on March 5 to address the situation, confirming that his time with WWE has officially come to an end.

Miller, known for his work in gaming and podcasting, revealed that he knew the show was done for a while but had hoped to “skate by a little longer” on the WWE roster.

“I knew this day was coming,” Miller admitted. “I was actually just hoping to skate by a little bit longer on WWE.com Superstars so that I could keep saying I was a WWE Superstar.”

He explained that This Is Awesome was always a limited-run project, with season three wrapping in the summer of 2024. However, the writing was on the wall when WWE made budget cuts and shifted its focus to Netflix.

“In the past, the other seasons had run the entire year. This one ending in the summer left a lot of space before the end of 2024 coming into 2025,” Miller said. “And then it was very much like, ‘Well, budgets will be decided for 2025 content…’ Knowing full well that RAW was going to be on Netflix and Netflix would be a big push.”

The biggest sign that his WWE run was over came in January when the This Is Awesome production team was laid off.

“That was the shocker for me,” Miller revealed. “The people who make This Is Awesome were actually laid off in January. And I was like, well, that’s not good. Now there’s no one there to actually make it happen.”

Adding to the shift, WWE has been bringing in Big E to host content, signaling that the company was moving in a different direction.

“You’ve seen Big E come out and host a bunch of different shows. And I think more than anything, that’s like, ‘Yeah, this is why it doesn’t make sense for Greg Miller, video game dork, to go host anything,’” Miller explained.

While Miller admits it’s bittersweet to be done with WWE, he remains grateful for the experience and isn’t ruling out a return in some capacity.

“By no means do I think you’ve seen the last of me doing WWE stuff. I bet you see me do other things and more crossover in the video game world,” he teased.

For now, Miller is moving on to other projects, including a new movie role. But with his deep love for wrestling, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him pop up in WWE again down the line.
