Goldberg’s WWE return is still up in the air, despite earlier reports suggesting he would appear on the January 27 episode of WWE Raw in Atlanta. While fans were expecting to see the Hall of Famer in some capacity, WWE has yet to advertise him, leaving questions about whether he’ll actually be there.

Goldberg previously confirmed on ESPN’s College Gameday that he will have his retirement match in WWE this year. His last match was back in 2022, when he lost to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber. More recently, Goldberg had a staredown with GUNTHER at WWE Bad Blood, seemingly setting up his farewell match. But as of now, no official date has been set.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed the confusion surrounding Goldberg’s rumored appearance on Raw, noting that WWE never actually confirmed his involvement.

“So the other thing on Raw, I don’t know about Goldberg, other than, you know, he was on the show. I have not heard confirmation that he’s on the show now, one way or the other, because he wasn’t advertised. Maybe they want to do a surprise.”

Meltzer also brought up Paul Heyman’s cryptic tease from WWE’s Netflix special on January 6, where he hinted that something big would happen on January 27. He speculated that it could have been related to WWE’s upcoming video game announcement featuring Roman Reigns, rather than Goldberg.

“I would think you’d publicize Roman Reigns and Bill Goldberg, if they’re on the show. I mean, it would make sense. But so I’m still trying to find out what’s going on with that, because neither of them were advertised, but both of them were certainly, you know, planned to be on the show.”

With Goldberg’s retirement match still unconfirmed, there’s now speculation that he could instead appear at WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event to confront GUNTHER or even cost him the title against Jey Uso.

Goldberg’s WWE future remains a mystery, but if he does show up, it could have massive implications for GUNTHER and the World Heavyweight Championship. Will he make his presence felt on Raw, or is another stage set for his big return? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
