Goldberg’s rumored WWE comeback is looking less likely by the minute. Despite reports that the Hall of Famer was set to appear at the January 27 Monday Night RAW in Atlanta, new updates suggest that fans shouldn’t get their hopes up.
While Goldberg himself confirmed on ESPN’s College Gameday that he will have his retirement match in WWE this year, the company has yet to announce when or where. His last match was a 2022 loss to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber, and more recently, he had a tense staredown with GUNTHER at WWE Bad Blood, teasing a potential clash. However, as of now, no official match or return date has been set.
The speculation surrounding his RAW appearance gained steam after Paul Heyman’s cryptic tease during WWE’s Netflix special on January 6, hinting at something big happening on January 27. However, Dave Meltzer addressed the situation on Wrestling Observer Radio, pointing out that WWE never actually confirmed Goldberg for the show.
“I don’t know about Goldberg, other than, you know, he was on the show. I have not heard confirmation that he’s on the show now, one way or the other, because he wasn’t advertised. Maybe they want to do a surprise,” Meltzer explained.
But now, it looks like Goldberg won’t be showing up at all. Chris Featherstone of Sportskeeda shut down the speculation, reporting, “I’ve been informed that Bill Goldberg is not scheduled to appear on RAW this coming Monday and is not in any creative plans for the show.”
With WWE remaining tight-lipped on Goldberg’s return, fans are left wondering if he’ll make his presence felt at Saturday Night’s Main Event instead. Could he confront GUNTHER or even interfere in his match against Jey Uso?
Do you think WWE is keeping Goldberg’s return under wraps for a bigger surprise, or is he staying away for now? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
