Goldberg had his retirement match against GUNTHER at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Since then, there’s been speculation of him joining AEW and now the possibility of him going to AEW has been revealed.

According to WrestleVotes Radio, sources within AEW have said there’s currently no connection between the company and Goldberg. One source mentioned they would be genuinely surprised if AEW tried to bring him in for a match.

This is especially after the strong fan support following the successful All In: Texas pay-per-view last weekend. It’s also believed that Goldberg is still under contract with WWE, which would prevent AEW from reaching out to him at this time.

“After speaking with sources in AEW, there doesn’t appear to be any direct connection between the company and Goldberg at this time. One source noted it would genuinely surprise them if AEW moved in that direction for a match especially considering its good grace standing with the fans after the successful ALL IN PPV last weekend. It is also believed that Goldberg is still under contract with WWE which would prevent any communication from happening in the first place at this time.”

Goldberg also previously considered going to AEW only for Sting’s retirement match and even MJF entertained the idea of possibly facing Goldberg, stating that he would embarrass the WWE Hall of Famer.

Goldberg’s future after his retirement match is still unclear. Even though fans have been speculating about possible matches, AEW doesn’t seem to be interested right now. Since Goldberg is likely still under contract with WWE, any dream match involving AEW might stay just a dream for now.
