There’s a lot of talk about Gage Goldberg following in his father’s footsteps and becoming a wrestler, but Goldberg has now revealed that WWE offered his son an NIL deal.

While speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Goldberg revealed that WWE tried to offer his son Gage an NIL deal, but he ultimately decided to turn it down. He explained that once he found out how much they were planning to give his son, he put a stop to it.

Goldberg added that it would be foolish for WWE not to at least consider the possibility of Gage having a future in the business, but there hasn’t been any serious push to make it happen yet. He also pointed out that Gage still has plenty of time to explore opportunities like that down the road.

“They tried to get him an NIL deal, but when I found out how much they were gonna give him, I put the brakes on that one. But you know, they would be ignorant if they didn’t have an idea that it could be in his future, so no, it hasn’t been hard pressed by any stretch of the imagination. But he has plenty of time.”

Gage Goldberg is currently playing football for the University of Colorado under coach Deion Sanders. Whether or not he will eventually pursue a career in pro wrestling remains to be seen, but it’s clear that Goldberg wanted a better offer for his son and it’s clear the WWE Hall of Famer wants only the best for his son.
