Goldberg had his retirement match against GUNTHER on the July 12 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event and now he’s revealed when talks about his match actually started.

While speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Goldberg revealed that talks about his retirement match actually began around November last year. A date was suggested back then, but nothing was really confirmed until after the start of the new year.

Once everything was finalized, they were able to make it happen. He also mentioned how much of an honor it was for him to be able to do something like this at this stage of his career.

“It was around November actually when we started talking. A date was thrown out there and it wasn’t really confirmed until after the first of the year, and we made it happen here. Like I said, it was an honor to get something like this done.”
