Goldberg is gearing up for his final match in 2025, and he’s already thinking about who he’d step in the ring with. The WWE Hall of Famer last wrestled in 2022, losing to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber, but he isn’t done just yet. Now, he’s got his eyes on GUNTHER and isn’t shying away from the challenge.
While speaking with Ariel Helwani, Goldberg didn’t hold back when asked about a potential match with WWE’s dominant Ring General. “He’s the new generation. I’m the old generation. It’s kind of like a passing of the torch in a way. I wouldn’t turn that one down by any stretch of the imagination,” he said.
The two had a tense face-off back in October at Bad Blood, setting the stage for what could be an explosive clash. GUNTHER has proven himself as one of the most dominant champions in WWE, but Goldberg isn’t one to back down, especially when it comes to protecting his legacy. “You don’t ever open your mouth in front of my wife and my son negatively about me,” he warned.
Goldberg also revealed that WWE never gave him the proper sendoff Vince McMahon once promised him. “Vince had promised me another match because not too many people know this, but I took the Roman match with like a month prior notice, and I had Covid. That’s not the way to go out,” he explained.
Now, with his retirement match set for 2025, the question remains—will it be against GUNTHER?
