CO just delivered one of the wildest moments in recent wrestling history, smashing his TNA Digital Media Championship with a sledgehammer at The People vs. GCW before cutting into a heated promo about TNA—only to have his mic cut off. Now, GCW promoter Brett Lauderdale is speaking out on what really went down.

Appearing on Game Changer Weekly, Lauderdale made it clear that he wasn’t entirely sure what PCO was going to do, saying he thought they were assisting in a storyline rather than taking things that far.

“PCO is a longtime friend of ours. He’s a longtime friend of GCW. I’m a big fan of his, personally and professionally. I admire him, and I have a lot of respect for him,” Lauderdale said. “What happened, what he ended up doing, and what I thought he was going to do beforehand was a little different.”

Lauderdale admitted he was under the impression that they were helping PCO advance a storyline while making his return to GCW, but things didn’t go quite as expected.

“I only kind of realized that it was more than that after the fact when I started reading reports that he may or may not have done that on his own,” he explained. “If I would have known exactly what was gonna happen, I probably would have either suggested maybe doing it a little differently, or I probably would have reached out to TNA to make sure that they were in on it.”

As for whether TNA has reached out about the incident, Lauderdale says he hasn’t heard a thing, which leads him to believe this might actually be part of a storyline.

“I know a lot of the people at TNA, so I feel like I would have been contacted if there was any major issue that would have been on us or if they had questions about it,” he said. “That’s why I think maybe there is still a storyline going on with it because I feel like maybe if there wasn’t, after the fact, they would have said, ‘Hey, what happened?’”

Regardless of whether this was planned or an off-the-cuff move by PCO, Lauderdale made one thing crystal clear.

“PCO is crazy, okay? PCO is actually crazy, and he’s been crazy since the day I met him,” he said. “So, I mean, he’s crazy. I know that, and TNA knows that. So nothing should be surprising when it comes to him.”

PCO taking a sledgehammer to his TNA title was either a next-level storyline or a moment of pure chaos—maybe both. Brett Lauderdale isn’t sure what’s real and what’s not, but one thing’s clear: PCO doesn’t play by the rules. Whether this leads to more fallout with TNA or a shocking twist in his career, expect the unexpected when PCO is involved.

PCO destroying a TNA championship with a sledgehammer is the kind of move that gets people talking, but was this part of a bigger storyline, or did he go into business for himself? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
