Gail Kim has found herself back in the spotlight—but not because of anything she said in the ring. This time it’s over a fresh rumor claiming she tried to get into AEW, a rumor she says is 100% false.

The person behind the claim? B.J. Bethel—the same reporter previously roasted online for pushing a false story about AEW gaining an extra 500,000 viewers on MAX streaming. Bethel took to Twitter with a statement alleging Gail had actively reached out to AEW weeks ago, not the other way around.

“In the least breaking news, Gail Kim contacted several people about an opportunity at AEW at some point, longer than a couple weeks ago. No one reached out to her.”

The post immediately sparked speculation across social media about whether Gail Kim was seeking an AEW role behind the scenes or even a surprise in‑ring return. But the TNA Hall of Famer shut it all down with a fiery response—calling Bethel’s claim a lie and attacking his journalistic ethics.

“I don’t know you but this is a perfect example of someone lying and has zero integrity. At least when I say what I say, I’m saying what I feel and am truthful and will defend myself with facts. ZERO INTEGRITY here.”

Moments later, Gail doubled down with a second tweet, dropping the real version of events herself.

“The real news about what happened with AEW since people will lie etc. I was saving it for interviews but oh well it’s now. I got one text from AEW when I was terminated from TNA. It was from Sonjay and inquiring more about whether I wanted to wrestle. I’m retired. End of story.”

The exchange comes after Gail already dealt with online backlash for previous remarks involving Riho and her use of the phrase “hood side.” Now she’s fighting back against what she calls false reporting tied to an AEW agenda—making clear she’s not job‑hunting and she’s not stepping back into the ring.

Do you think Gail Kim was right to publicly call out B.J. Bethel, or should she have let the rumor die on its own? Drop your thoughts in the comments below.
