Gail Kim Denies Wanting WWE Legends Deal After Fans Accuse Her of Bias

Gail Kim has found herself in the middle of controversy again—this time after fans accused her of supporting WWE following critical comments about AEW star Riho. But the former TNA Knockouts Champion isn’t having it and made it clear she doesn’t stand with any company—only with the talent.

Things escalated after Kim shared her thoughts on WWE’s increasing use of AI in wrestling, tweeting her frustration with how the industry feels lately.

“Ughhhh already feel like the hearts have been ripped out of wrestling these days…. Agree or disagree?”

One fan responded with a jab, saying she supported the wrong side:

“AEW is for the wrestling fans. WWE is for corporate profits. You backed the wrong side.”

Kim immediately shut that down, clarifying that she has no loyalty to WWE or AEW.

“I’m not backing s**. Genuine question…. Why is everyone saying I’m backing the WWE machine or that I’m team WWE?? I’m Team wrestlers/talent and IDGAF about any wrestling company in particular. I like and will say my opinions about particular talent, match, show etc. wrestling in general.”*

Another fan suggested that her criticisms of AEW might be her angle to land a WWE Legends deal—something Gail Kim also laughed off.

“Not sure if you are fully aware, but almost all of the big name talents who made a name for themselves in the WWE have completely bashed AEW. Next thing you know they get a WWE legends deal. Is that what you want ?”

Kim made it clear she doesn’t want a deal, a gift basket, or anything from WWE. She also didn’t hesitate to throw a little heat toward AEW EVP Kenny Omega in the process.

“Talk about social media outrage on overload. lol! So I give my opinion as most or all do on X on any particular subject. Does everyone have an ulterior motive? I have no desire for any contract or the ‘annual TKO gift basket’ as the EVP of AEW stated. Some people just ‘tweet’??”

At the end of the day, Gail Kim is sticking to her stance: she supports the wrestlers, not the corporate machines behind them. And while her honest takes might ruffle feathers, she’s not planning to sugarcoat anything for the sake of avoiding backlash.
