Gabe Kidd is never shy about speaking his mind and calling out things he believes aren’t right, including NJPW’s partnership with AEW. That’s precisely why it’s not a surprise that he went on an unhinged rant against AEW and attacked pretty much everyone.
While speaking on Hey (EW), Gabe Kidd went on a profane rant against AEW, making it clear he didn’t respect anyone in the company. He criticized the backstage staff, the people setting up the stage, the catering team, and even the makeup artists. He made it clear that he had no regard for anyone working there or associated with the platform.
“F*** AEW. F*** everyone who works here. F*** the staff backstage, f*** the people who set up the stage, the catering staff, f*** the makeup girls, and f*** the makeup guy as well. F*** the rest of you and everyone else on this platform.”
Kidd declared that New Japan Pro Wrestling is the best wrestling company in the world. Taking a shot at AEW, he mocked the idea that AEW is where the best wrestle. He pointed to his recent match during the February 19th edition of Collision, where he dominated The Butcher, a long-standing member of the roster.
Comparing The Butcher to an annoying child on an airplane kicking the seat in front of him, Kidd said he put him in his place by slapping him down without any issue.
“Any wrestler on this platform—New Japan Pro Wrestling is the best wrestling in the world. My man wants to talk about ‘AEW this is where the best wrestle.’ It sure didn’t look like that last week when I ran through one of the longest-standing roster members (The Butcher), someone who has been here from the beginning. I treated him like a little kid sitting in the airplane seat in front of me, kicking my seat, moving back, making funny faces—and I slapped the s*** out of him. I slapped the s*** out of him.”
This is certainly not the first time Gabe Kidd took aim at AEW, as the NJPW star previously called Tony Khan a “butthurt rat” for not promoting his Wrestle Dynasty match against Kenny Omega.
Given his harsh words, we’ll have to wait and see when Kidd will return to AEW. As for Kidd, he seems happy to keep making enemies while promoting NJPW as the top wrestling company, and that’s not likely to change anytime soon.
