Gabe Kidd’s G1 Climax run has hit a sudden and painful detour.
On night two of NJPW G1 Climax 35, Kidd came to the ring on crutches and revealed he’s dealing with a hyper-extended knee, forcing him to forfeit his scheduled match against Zack Sabre Jr. Despite the setback, Kidd made it clear he’s not done just yet.
The injury appears to have happened during his opening-round match on July 19 against Konosuke Takeshita, which ended with Kidd being choked out. It was a physical bout, and by the looks of things, Kidd’s body paid the price.
With the G1 Climax tournament already in full swing, Kidd’s injury couldn’t have come at a worse time. Every match counts, and missing even one could mean the end of a wrestler’s chances at winning it all.
Will Gabe Kidd be able to bounce back and re-enter the tournament before it’s too late? Share your thoughts in the comments and wish him a speedy recovery.
