Ohio Valley Wrestling, which was once a developmental brand for WWE, has evolved into its own independent wrestling promotion. It even got a Netflix show called “Wrestlers” back in 2023, but so far, it only has one season, and fans wondered if there would be more. With that said, the future of the show has been revealed.

While speaking during Fightful Select’s Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp was asked whether there would be another season of “Wrestlers.” Sapp noted that Netflix is not planning another season of “Wrestlers” featuring OVW.

Sean Ross Sapp confirmed that while the show was well-produced and showed off OVW in a positive way, it wasn’t renewed. He mentioned that Netflix initially had the option to continue OVW programming and even discussed a live event as part of their efforts to test live streaming, alongside projects like the Chris Rock special and Love is Blind.

However, the opportunity passed, and with independent wrestling struggling in Kentucky, Netflix decided not to move forward with another season.

Although “Wrestlers” gave fans a closer look at OVW’s challenges and successes, the promotion will now have to move forward without Netflix’s support. It’s unclear if another network will pick up the series, but OVW will continue to push for growth on its own.
