Fred Ottman is finally out of the hospital — but the WWE Hall of Famer admits the road back won’t be easy.

The wrestling legend, known to fans as Tugboat, Typhoon, and The Shockmaster, posted a new video update on February 25, 2026, revealing he was released following another serious procedure tied to his recent medical emergency. Ottman told fans doctors kept him hospitalized longer than expected because of how intense the surgery was.

“Good morning, everybody. This is Fred Ottman, AKA Tugboat, Typhoon, the Shockmaster, the BA Double D, big Steel man, and I'm coming at you live. They released me from the hospital yesterday. They kept me in the hospital for extra couple of days for observation because the surgery was pretty tough.”

Now back home in Florida with his wife Sheila, Ottman says he’s beginning what he expects to be a long recovery process — with home health care already stepping in.

“But I'm home with my beautiful wife Sheila, and I got home health care coming and checking on me today and then will become the road to recovery, which will take a while, I believe.”

As previously reported, Ottman suffered a ruptured gallbladder that caused a severe infection and nearly turned fatal. He has endured multiple procedures and weeks in the hospital, losing significant strength along the way. Despite everything, his message was filled with gratitude.

“But I just wanted to keep you guys in your loop and thanks for all the prayers and all the thoughts and everything and the cards and letters that have been sent to me. God bless you, each and every one. I really appreciate the support. You know, you're my extended family, so I just want to keep you in here.”

“All right, I love you and I won't bother you no more. Have a great day.”

The update is a positive step after what doctors reportedly described as a life-threatening situation. While Ottman is no longer in a hospital bed, he made it clear this fight isn’t finished.
