Another round of corporate cuts at WWE has fans talking—but it’s a cryptic post from a former writer that’s getting just as much attention.
After the release of Christine Lubrano, WWE’s now-former Senior Vice President of Creative Writing Operations, ex-WWE writer Jennifer Pepperman took to Twitter and dropped a sharp one-liner: “Today…. I feel vindicated….”
Pepperman, who served as a Senior Writer and Producer in WWE from 2017 until early 2024, now works for AEW as the Vice President of Content Development. While she didn’t name anyone directly, her timing couldn’t have been more deliberate—Lubrano’s exit had just been reported as part of WWE’s latest corporate restructuring under the TKO Group Holdings umbrella.
Lubrano was a major player behind WWE’s scripted content, overseeing creative operations across RAW, SmackDown, and NXT alongside Bruce Prichard. Her firing not only sent shockwaves through the company, but also left WWE without a single woman on their current creative team—something fans online are already calling a major step backward.
Pepperman’s tweet speaks volumes, especially considering she left WWE under unclear circumstances just months before landing a top role in AEW. While she’s now thriving in Tony Khan’s camp, her subtle dig suggests she may have had lingering frustrations tied to WWE’s creative structure.
With Lubrano out and no woman left in WWE’s core creative circle, the pressure is on the company to address growing concerns about diversity and representation behind the scenes.
