Sting’s son is getting some serious guidance behind the scenes — and it’s coming from a familiar WWE face.

Steven Borden Jr., who competes under the name Steven Borden, made his in-ring debut in October 2025 and has since worked several dark matches at AEW and ROH tapings. Now, a former WWE Superstar has confirmed he’s playing a key role in shaping the second-generation talent’s development.

Speaking on Paltrocast with Darren Paltrowitz, NJPW’s Fred Rosser — known to WWE fans as Darren Young — revealed that he’s been privately training Borden and treating the process as a major personal focus.

“The coaching is pretty full-time with me, and I’m working with Sting’s son, Steven Borden, helping to groom him privately and helping him become all that he’s created to be inside the ring.”

Rosser made it clear that Borden isn’t just training casually. He’s actively getting ring experience in front of live crowds. For Rosser, this isn’t just another student — it’s a passion project.

“He’s working hard, doing some dark matches, getting some reps out in front of a crowd. That means a lot to me, so that’s a personal project that I’m trying to conquer.”

Steven Borden has appeared in dark matches at AEW Dynamite tapings on December 10, 2025, January 21, and February 4, as he quietly builds experience away from television cameras. With his father Sting cemented as one of wrestling’s most iconic figures, expectations are naturally high.

AEW President Tony Khan has already called Borden’s development a “huge priority,” signaling that the company sees long-term potential in the rising prospect.

Now, with Fred Rosser guiding him behind the scenes, Steven Borden’s next chapter appears to be taking shape — methodically and privately — before any major on-screen spotlight.
