The legal battle between former WWE Superstar Odyssey Jones and his ex-girlfriend Meileth Nunez has reached a new level, with Jones—real name Omari Palmer—officially suing Nunez for slander.

According to court records from Orange County, Florida, obtained by Ringside News, Palmer filed the lawsuit on January 20, 2025, seeking over $100,000 in damages. The case remains pending as of January 29.

The lawsuit states that Nunez made “false verbal and written statements” about Palmer between May and July 2024 to TKO Group, WWE’s parent company, and several news outlets. The complaint claims these accusations were “categorically false” and “maliciously made with actual knowledge of the statements’ falsity.”

Palmer argues that Nunez’s claims directly led to WWE terminating his contract in September 2024. The lawsuit states, “As a result of the false and malicious written and verbal statements… Defendant was terminated from his employment with TKO Group.” Palmer is suing for actual, special, and punitive damages, along with pre- and post-judgment interest.

These allegations first surfaced in mid-2024, when Nunez accused Palmer of physically attacking her after discovering text messages between her and another man. She claimed that Palmer threw objects at her and slammed her to the ground twice. She also provided photographs of bruises, which she said were caused by the alleged assault.

Palmer has consistently denied all allegations, even accusing Nunez of harassment. According to POST Wrestling, court records reveal that Palmer was granted a protection order against Nunez in September 2024.

In his petition to the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in Orange County, Palmer stated that he was being harassed and threatened by Nunez, citing multiple incidents, including one that took place during a cruise in May 2024.

Palmer claimed that during the cruise, Nunez “became increasingly irate and started punching, slapping, and kicking me” after she accused him of interacting with another woman. “She was screaming at me the whole time. I attempted to defend myself from her attack by hugging her arms to her side.”

The petition also referenced a December 2023 incident at a hotel in Ft. Lauderdale, where Palmer alleged that Nunez “showed up uninvited and unannounced and attacked me in front of my friend and other witnesses.”

Palmer further claimed that after the cruise incident, Nunez “made numerous threats to get me back in any way she can” and contacted his employer, which he believes directly led to his WWE release. He also filed a police report for stalking with the Maitland Police Department.

Palmer’s protection order was first granted on September 6, 2024, and has been extended twice. Most recently, on January 6, 2025, the Florida court extended the order for an additional three years, ensuring it will remain in place until early 2028.

In his petition, Palmer stated that he and Nunez originally dated in 2017 but separated in 2018. He claimed that he had a previous protection order against her in New York, while her attempt to file an order against him was denied. The two resumed their relationship in August 2023 but never lived together.

On January 11, 2025, Palmer addressed the allegations publicly for the first time in an Instagram video.

“Good morning, my name is Omari Palmer, AKA Odyssey Jones, and first and foremost, I’d like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving me the strength to get through these difficult times,” he said.

He then stated that he had “patiently waited” to address the situation until he was legally protected. “I apologize for taking so long to address these false claims, but I had to patiently wait to get an injunction set in place to protect my family, my friends, and myself.”

Palmer also thanked WWE for giving him an opportunity, despite how his time there ended. “I would like to thank WWE for the amazing opportunity,” he said. “I thank you so much for bringing me up. I’d also like to thank management and creative for putting me in a position for success, as well as thank the fans for the support that you give me, not only today but all the way back to day one.”

Despite the ongoing legal battle, Palmer made it clear that he’s ready to move forward with his wrestling career. “The journey continues. I’m ready to get back to doing what I love to do. I’m accepting bookings for 2025, and I thank you all for your support and for your time.”

With the lawsuit in motion, the protection order extended, and both sides standing firm in their claims, this case is far from over.
