Luke Menzies isn’t done with wrestling after his controversial WWE release—and now he’s making it clear a comeback is officially in the works.

After recently being cleared to resume physical activity following neck surgery, the former WWE star has now confirmed he’s planning to step back into the ring, a few months after WWE terminated his contract after he accused the company of cutting him loose while he was hurt and unpaid.

While speaking on the Wakefield Trinity Heritage podcast on March 24, 2026, Menzies revealed that the turning point came when he started feeling like himself again physically—and that reignited his drive to compete.

“I felt like about a month ago I started getting the itch again, and my body started feeling good again — back in the gym, doing my cardio, feeling great. So I’m like, I’ve got so much to prove here. So I think I will give wrestling another shot.”

That decision marks a major shift after months of recovery, and he already has a clear plan for how he wants to rebuild momentum. Instead of jumping straight back into a major promotion, Menzies says he’s heading back to the independent scene to reestablish himself and create opportunities.

“Where am I going? The next step is going back to the indies, start taking bookings, and if you generate enough buzz, there are opportunities out there with places like TNA and AEW.”

He also made it clear that his connections in the industry could play a role in helping him get back into bigger promotions—but he knows it starts with proving himself again.

“I’m fortunate enough that I’ve made some good relationships in the business, so maybe I can call in a favor here and there and get my foot in the door.”

This comes after Menzies shared that he had been fully cleared for training following a two-level cervical disc replacement surgery—a major step forward after dealing with serious health issues that kept him out of action.

Now, instead of focusing solely on recovery, he’s shifting toward a full return—and making it clear he still has unfinished business in wrestling. For Luke Menzies, this isn’t just about coming back—it’s about proving he still belongs, and showing that his story in wrestling is far from over after everything he’s been through.

Do you think Luke Menzies can successfully rebuild his career on the indies and make it back to a major promotion, or will it be tough after everything he’s faced? Drop your thoughts below and let us know.
