Kali Armstrong may be stepping back to reset after a rough stretch on WWE Evolve.
Armstrong made history in April 2025 when she became the first-ever WWE Evolve Women’s Champion, winning a four-way match against Wendy Choo, Kendal Grey, and Kylie Rae. Her reign lasted 140 days before coming to an end in September, when Kendal Grey took the title.
Since then, things haven’t gone Armstrong’s way. Including that title loss, she has now dropped five straight matches on Evolve, with defeats coming against PJ Vasa, Kendal Grey again, Grey in a three-way that also featured Vasa, and most recently Karmen Petrovic.
On tonight’s episode of Evolve, Armstrong addressed the losing streak head-on and openly questioned what comes next for her. She admitted the situation has hit her harder than expected:
“I’m disappointed in myself. I’m not used to racking up losses like this. I’m too strong, Armstrong. I’m the difference maker.”
She then reflected on the mindset that carried her to the top of the division in the first place:
“I gotta get that dog back in me. That dog that got me to USC. That dog that had me running circles around these chicks on my way to becoming Evolve Women’s Champion.”
Armstrong closed by suggesting a possible pause from in-ring competition to reconnect with her roots:
“Maybe I need to go back home for a minute until I can remember who I am and where I came from.”
Whether this signals a short break, a character reset, or something bigger remains to be seen—but it’s clear Armstrong isn’t satisfied with how things have unfolded since losing the title.
