Florida independent wrestling talent Lucero is facing a real-life battle after being detained by ICE, and her family is now speaking out.

The 24-year-old wrestler, originally from Colombia, has lived in the United States since she was 15 years old. According to her attorney, she entered the country legally and has been in the asylum application process with her family.

Her husband, Noah Lazega, told NBC6 in Miami that Lucero called him during the detention, allowing him to record the interaction. Lazega said agents claimed they were “running plates” in the area but allegedly did not respond when asked what probable cause they had to stop her. Lucero’s attorney, Justin Gould, pushed back strongly on the detention, stressing that she has no criminal record and has followed proper legal channels. He also criticized what he views as the broader approach to enforcement.

“This is a person, once again, who entered legally, who filed a case legally as a dependent through her parents and has been in this country with no criminal record,” Gould said.

“So now it is basically everybody’s illegal unless otherwise noted, and it’s just not OK. This is not what the President promised.”

Beyond wrestling, Lucero works as a surgical technician at a Florida hospital. In the ring, she teams with her sister as The Lucero Twins and has been active on the Florida independent scene.

Support has quickly poured in from fellow wrestlers, including Gangrel and several talents from Coastal Championship Wrestling and other Florida promotions. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist the Lucero-Lazega family with legal expenses as they fight the case. The situation is ongoing as her legal team works to resolve her status.
