The WWE-AAA takeover just got its first major crossover booking—Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo, now known as Los Garza, are officially headed to Triplemanía Regia on June 15.
The announcement came during a recent press conference in Mexico, where Latin Lover confirmed the duo’s involvement. This makes Los Garza the first WWE Superstars formally announced for AAA programming since WWE’s purchase of the iconic lucha promotion on April 19.
“Ángel Garza y Humberto Carrillo confirmados para Triplemanía Regia,” journalist Jahir Cardenas posted along with a video of the announcement. No opponents were named, but the move is already fueling speculation about what other WWE talent could appear at AAA’s flagship event.
Garza previously wrestled for AAA between 2015 and 2017, while Carrillo—then using the name Último Ninja—made a one-off appearance in 2015.
This year’s Triplemanía Regia is shaping up to be a global spectacle. WWE and AAA already confirmed a joint Worlds Collide event set for June 7, and sources close to the situation are teasing that TNA talent could also be brought in for future shows.
With WWE now calling the shots behind the scenes, Triplemanía Regia could be just the beginning of a massive crossover era.
