JD McDonagh is officially on the sidelines, and now we’re getting an update straight from someone who knows him best.
After the Judgment Day member revealed via Instagram that he had undergone surgery and was taking time off to heal, his tag team partner Finn Balor took to social media to offer reassurance to fans concerned about McDonagh’s condition.
“I just got home this very second from checking on my dear friend [JD McDonagh] & I can confirm that he is in good spirits & will make a full recovery,” Balor wrote on Twitter.
McDonagh didn’t specify the nature of the injury but posted a photo showing his hand in a cast while resting in a hospital bed. His caption read:
“Been working through some stuff for the last few months, but now it’s time to pump the brakes and get put back together. Won’t be long. BRB.”
While WWE has yet to formally comment on the injury, Balor’s message makes it clear that McDonagh’s outlook is positive and that a return is expected once he heals up.
Balor’s absence from this week’s Monday Night Raw was also explained in storyline. During a backstage segment, Dominik Mysterio told Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez that Balor was away visiting McDonagh, confirming the real-life hospital trip.
JD McDonagh last wrestled on the November 24 episode of Raw, where he lost to Rey Mysterio in singles action. With the Royal Rumble fast approaching on January 31, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, it remains unclear if McDonagh will be cleared in time for the event.
